Healthy, affordable travel to work or training

If you have the offer of work, training or education and live in one of the qualifying areas of Merseyside you may be able to join the WorkWise Wheels scheme.

The scheme offers a bicycle loan for up to six months to help you get to places of employment or education that you can’t easily get to by public transport. You will be given free basic cycle road safety training to improve your road safety and hazard perception skills, plus appropriate protective equipment. The charge is only £20 for six months bicycle hire, including helmet, lights, personal safety equipment and maintenance kit.

At the end of the six month term the bicycle must be returned in an acceptable condition, however during the term you will be encouraged to save up to buy your own bike so that you can continue to get around.
